Johnny was born and raised in Jorpeland outside Stavanger. He still lives there (except when he is on the move around the world) and enjoys living at his place of birth with its barely 6,000 inhabitants, so far from the metropolis of the world as you can get.

Those who are interested in Norwegian and international poker, of course know who Johnny Lodden from Jorpeland in Rogaland is. Johnny is already known for his highstakes games on the Internet, but has also been noted on the European Poker Tour in recent years. The only thing he has lacked is a win in a big tournament.

The whole adventure started with poker home in the garage with some friends. The winnings Johnny made there, he put into poker online with varying success in the beginning. There is one man who gets a lot of credit for Johnny's poker career, namely his buddy Keyser. He was his poker teacher.

Johnny began playing Limit, and played $1-$2 in the beginning, but not longer than a month, before he moved to$ 2-$4 and then to $3-$6. After six months he was playing $15-$30, and played there for a while. It went really well, with long 12-hour sessions each day. Johnny played often from he got out of bed until he went to bed again.

His style of playing has changed drastically during his relatively short career. The first period he was playing very tight, which of course means that he only played the very best starting hands, and often folded before the community cards came on the table. Now he is known as the most aggressive of the aggressive and plays almost everything. It makes him difficult to play against and the opponents never know what he has. If you connect with low cards on the flop, or with speculative hands that no one else has, you tend to get well paid, is Johnny's philosophy.

The nick that Johnny used at the Prima Network, bad_ip, was quickly discussed on most of the discussion forums on the web, because most people weren’t aware of who was hiding behind this nick. Johnny increased his bank role steadily and played up to the maximum levels that existed on Prima at that time, $200/$400 that was.

There was a time when the nick “bad_ip” sent shivers down the back of most high-stakes players in the world. Using this nick Johnny made countless winnings from big stacks for several years. He became a legend of the internet poker.

Johnny had to retire his bad_ip-nick, because there were few players who would play against him on Prima in the end.

Johnny now plays under the nick "Johnny Lodden" on Poker Stars.

Within Live poker Johnny is still waiting to win a big international tournament, but he has many payouts on the EPT-tour, with his 8th place in Budapest in 2008 as the best. Johnny also has a strong 11th place from the WSOPE in London in 2008. Previously, he has a 2nd place from the Swedish Open Championship in 2005, a 3rd place from the Norwegian Championship No-limit Holdem in 2006, as well as tournament victories in a high-roller tournament at “Klubben” in Stockholm and in the Main Event at St. Maarten in 2004.

Johnny was in 2006 and 2007 member of the Betsson Boys, a feared team across Europe, which, in addition to Johnny, consisted of Tore "Lager" Lagerborg, Gunnar "Gunman" Ostebrod and for a period Paal "Fiks" Hersleth.

Johnny is now sponsored by PokerStars and is a member of Team PokerStars Pro.
