Happy New Year everyone!
I was very disappointed with my play on the finale table in Spain, so I haven`t had the energy to write about it :P I finished as number six, something I am very disappointed with after I reached the finale table with such a nice structure. It was a young German who won it. He played very solid, so he deserved to win.
I celebrated Christmas at home with my family, and the rest of the Christmas holiday I spent together with my friends at Jorpeland. I got sick on the third day of Christmas and I was in bed with fever and coughing until 2nd of January, so I wasn`t able to do anything reasonable during my holidays. New years eve was celebrated in bed with a movie :P My worst new years eve since 1984 you might say.
Luckily I got much better right before the trip down here to sunny and delightful Bahamas! I played yesterday and since I am sitting here and writing my blog now, it went straight to hell unfortunately and that in a tournament in which I wanted to do well!
I came in a bit late and obviously the draw hadn`t included every player so I started on table 69 together with Elky, Victor Ramdin, Dario Minieri and someone I didn`t know! So while the rest of the players sat at 10 player big tables, we who came in late had to play at a five handed table. I like playing shorthanded, but if I could choose between a full ring and this shorthanded table, the choice would be easy! Fortunately our table was broken after 30 minutes and I left with about 20k.
My new table was quite tough as well, so with Miami John and Eli Elezra among others, my stack gradually decreased until the first break where I had 10k (20k start stack) and I felt that I hadn`t lost that many pots….Not a good sign!
Just after the break I was moved once again, this time to a much softer table, but a very aggressive one! I sat passive for a while watching the others betting 3 or 4 times against each other on every single hand. At the next break I had about 12k.
During the break I saw my favorite dealer was going to deal at my table so I had an emo-chat with her. She said she would make me double up so I got back to a playable stack again. The first hand after the break the player to my right made it 550 when I looked down at 3 4 off suit and asked the dealer which hand I was supposed to double up with and she answered: -This one, so I had to make the call! Two players behind me called as well… The flop was: 2 5 6 rainbow!! The original raiser made it 2k and I just called and hoped that one of the players behind me would make a move. The first one folded and the other one called. Turn: 6 (ugly!). The raiser checked and I bet 3k, the next guy made it 10k :) The first guy folded and I called, or went all in, we had about the same amount of chips. He showed 6 7. The river was a 5 :P Over and out for me in a quite nasty way!
Can`t do nothing but blaming the dealer in this case ;)
No matter what there are a lot of funny things to do here on Paradise Island, so no worry. I might play some side events, it depends on the weather! I will not play the 25k tournament, it is too expensive for me..
I hope Stephan takes it home this time, I saw he had 125k after day 1 so it is looking good!
