As I wrote in my previous blog, the trip went to Brazil and Fortaleza, where we got to lend the apartment from Fropsy. TY.

We hang around over there for over 3 weeks without much sensible use of time… Unfortunately, it was a lot of online poker, something that was not a success for me as usual: P

It was a pretty slack bunch that hang there, so we did nothing particular. From day one it was our goal to get into a water park located just outside the town which has the world's longest waterslide of 48 meters, but since we only had 3-4 weeks at the place, we hadn’t got the time! Those days were we managed to do something, we often did sunbathing at the beach, swimming or playing volleyball.

My big highlight was without doubt the weekend when we traveled to a place called Canua, which is an old hippie village where approximately the whole city is just sand. If you could call it a city, it was even smaller than Jorpeland (my hometown)! But it was fun! The only thing you could do there, was lying on the beach during the day and partying in the evening, which suits me perfectly, at least for a weekend ;) After people had finished partying in the city/street (it was just one street with pubs), most people went down on the beach where the party continued on with swimming, building fires and drinking and more...

After a few weeks there we headed to Copenhagen, where the EPT was on the line. As usual it was crowded with Norwegians there, and an insane amount of people I knew, so I knew it was going to be a hard week there, but I relaxed plenty in Brazil, so I was ready for it! Before day 1a the Scandinavian Poker Awards took place, which it usually does. I was nominated in two categories: "Live Player of the year" and "Performance of the year". I knew off course that I was drawing dead in both, but nice to be nominated at least, that is what you should say when you do not win ;) I had the honor to give the award to the "Online Player of the year" who was not surprisingly Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies!

I think it was pure foolishness that neither Peter Eastgate nor Jesper “Kipster” Hougaard won “Live Player of the year”. All respect to Patrik Antonius, but when one of them wins the WSOP Main Event and the other one wins a WSOP event and a WSOPE event, I think one of them should get the price..

I played day 1b in Copenhagen EPT where I started in seat 5 with my buddy Orjan Holt in seat 4, so this could be a fun day! Other known players around the table were, among others Nebuchad who sat in seat 3. I started the day by playing many hands, probably because it was a long time since my last tournament, so I was keen to collect some pots early on :)

Unfortunately it did not happen as planned, and I lost 2k pretty early, but no crisis. Seat 1 and 2 was not good players, so when they were in and worked preflop, I usually saw a flop. At the end of level 1 the player in seat 1 made it 250, that was 5xbb. Seat 2 and Nebuchad called and I called in the BB with JJ. I would not reraise with three men in with only 8k left in case one of them should come over the top and I had to fold. Flop: 2 8 9 rainbow. It was checked around to Nebuchad who was betting 750, I chose only to call since both seat 1 and 2 could easily make a move here. Seat 1 folded, seat 2 went all-in with 3k more. Nebuchad went into the box for a long time before he folded. I quickly called and of course he showed AK. Turn: x River: K ... FFS! After this I was down to about 4k and had to work..

After that I folded pretty much until I picked up 10 10. Orjan raised to 400 utg on blinds 75-150, I called and the same did the other two. Flop: 2,7,10 ... hmm .. how should I at least double up, or rather triple up here! Unfortunately, it was checked around on the flop .. Turn: J Orjan checked and I bet 1k, the next man raised to 3500, which put me all in. The others folded and I proudly turned over 1010, but he showed 89, and with a blank river, it was a bloody short tournament for my part :( Had looked forward to this tournament and had great hopes, but no!

After a very hard week in Copenhagen, it was ready for the highlight of the week: Theo Jorgensen vs Gus Hansen in a box fight! It was a mega success since both men apparently had been training hard for a long time! It was a super atmosphere at the arena and 3000 spectators cheered for the guys. After a close and tough match Theo won on points! I had no great expectations for the show, but it was very good!

When I would like to go home to me dear Jorpeland, Orjan pops an idea: How about a little trip to Thailand instead! I could of course not say no to that, so here we are in a hotel in Bangkok trying to find out where to go from here. It is 35 degrees and beautiful weather here, so I will survive all right ;)
